Christmas Card 2013

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This year we opted out of the whole physical Christmas Card thing to "Go Green" so I decided to do a virtual Christmas Card and you can see that below :)

We are in Atlanta celebrating Christmas with my family and relaxing. It has been so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The little ones have had such a fun time being spoiled by family which they normally don't see and it doesn't help the situation that they are the only grandchildren on this side of the family. But they are loving every bit of it. And let me tell you my family is too. I am so glad we were able to come up and bring some joy and laughter to my parents through the little ones!

I will definitely post a little recap and pictures when I get back home. This is all I have time for today!

DIY: Polka-Dot Holiday Wrapping Paper

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Hello there!! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their family and friends! We sure did! This is the first year that Little Gus is starting to understand a little bit more what is going on  and he has become quite the little helper! So Friday he helped me put up our Christmas tree. We had Christmas music playing all day, it was so nice! He loved taking out all of our ornaments, of course he thought they were balls so he threw them everywhere. Thank God I have yet to invest in  some nice ornaments and mine are nice, cheap, and plastic so no harm can be done...hehe. Nevertheless, it was so nice to have him be a part of the Christmas tree this year.

This weekend I made some pretty fabulous wrapping paper (budget-friendly, of course) and wanted to share on how to make it! It's oh so very simple and will need just a few materials! The very best part is that I already had everything I needed so I only spent $1 !! The hubs was so excited hahah!

- Craft paint in color(s) of your choice
- Wine corks
(I have been saving the corks off the bottles of wine we open ;))
-Brown Mailing paper
($1 at the Dollar Tree or you can get it at the Post Office)
-Ribbon for wrapping the gift afterwards
(Had some left-over from my son's birthday party)
-Tape
-Scissors

All you have to do it unravel the mailing paper on the floor or on a long table and dip one end of the cork into the paint and stamp away! I used different corks for each color. The corks make the most perfect circles on the paper. I left mine to dry overnight because I didn't want to risk any smudges.

This is a cute project that you could even do with your little ones, obviously with kids paint and not permanent craft paint.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

XOXO

Happy Birthday Little Gus!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my little Guy!!!

This post was supposed to be on the blog on Friday, which was the day of his actual birthday but between one thing and the other that didn't happen. I will do a re-cap of his birthday party on another post. Here is the post:

Two years ago, today, we were blessed with the life of a precious baby boy. This little or not so little bundle of joy was born at 8 lbs, 14 oz and 21 inches long. Little did I know my life would change forever.

He has brought nothing but joy and laughter to us and our families. My sweet boy is growing up!! It's amazing how time flies and fast they grow and I'm sitting here thinking how I wish he was a baby again, who depended on you for everything but at the same time I am thrilled that he becoming more independent day by day.

I love watching him grow and develop. He says please and thank you. Yesterday, I sneezed and he said "Bless you" (I almost melted). He can climb up and down our stairs successfully, without falling.

The day I became a big brother!

Little Gus is loving trains these days. Actually, mostly anything that has to do with transportation. He loves Elmo, loves the park and most of all loves going to play with his cousins. He is still a great eater...like hes's always been haha. He has become pretty good at sharing with Olivia--(this was not an easy thing to accomplish). He has such a big heart and helps his sister up when she falls.

Below is a little picture re-cap of the first two years of my little guy's life!

Baby Files// Olivia is 8 Months Old!

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Our little Livey is 8 months old already! I'm thinking time just needs to slow down a little bit. This has a been a month of a lot of firsts for Olivia.

oopsss someone got stuck underneath her bouncer.
She has become quite the little firecracker, haha. She started crawling this month, which means she is getting into EVERYTHING! She claps now and can eat a cracker on her own :) ! She can also hold her bottle on her own. Her favorite thing to do these days is to empty out all of the baby books from the entertainment center, making a beautiful mess! But hey, I will take whatever will keep her entertained for a few minutes. She also started sitting up by herself from laying down so we lowered her crib completely. (We don't want any accidents)

Her teeth-less smile just lights up the room. Yes. Still no teeth. Should I be concerned? She may not have teeth but she can eat cooked carrots and small pieces of chicken. She is starting to boycott baby food and wants what the rest of the family is eating.

I have been so blessed to marry into a wonderful and very supportive family. As many of you may know my family is in Atlanta. However, when we got married and I moved down here, my husband's family welcomed me with open arms and have taken me in as if I were a daughter of their own. The other day my Mother-in-Law called me because she was at IKEA and she picked these fabulous bibs up for the babies. (I just wish they came in girly colors.)

Ikea KLADD Bib

Ummm let me just say they one of the best things ever invented. I'm in love with them. They are great for eating (at any age) or crafts and save a lot of time from trying to get stains out of kids clothes.

90 Calories and 3 Ingredients. Can you guess what it is?!

Friday, November 15, 2013

Happy Friday! Well it's been a rough 48 hours for us lately. We've got one baby with a cold and another with an ear infection, high fevers and the whole nine yards. So yes, I've been running on very little sleep. I hate having sick babies. They're just so sad. Yesterday, I was at the pediatrician for about 3 hours with them. I literally almost cried because the wait was so long. But that's alright, as mothers we do what we have to, to make our little ones feel better.

Anyways, Yay for still being in pumpkin season! We've got about 2 more weeks of  it before the Christmas season officially starts! I LOVE pumpkin flavored anything and for some reason pumpkin seasonal foods are limited in grocery stores here. Don't ask me why. Such a bummer. So the minute I saw canned pumpkin at the grocery store the other day I didn't hesitate to grab it, whatsoever.

I love to bake as you may already know and always prefer to make baked goods from scratch instead of  using pre-made mixes from the grocery store but this little recipe you just can't resist. It requires only 3 ingredients and takes less than 10 minutes to prepare. The best part its only 90 Calories!!!! wooohoooo!!! This is the Weight Watchers Pumpkin Spice Muffins Recipe! (This time I couldn't find my cupcake pan so I just made it in a 9x9 baking pan and cut it into squares.)

Ingredients:
-1 box of Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix
-1 15oz. can of Pumpkin (not pumpkin filling mix)
-1 cup of water

THATS IT!!! It really can't get any easier ladies!!

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Mix all 3 ingredients in a bowl
3. Let bake from 20-25 min.

This is the most perfect recipe for when you don't have much time to spend on making a little something sweet and festive!!

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
Happy Friday!

Happy Tuesday! Well I made it through week one of the Style Challenge and I know I am a day late with this post but I figured it's better late than never! I'm not going to lie and say it was easy. With two little ones, I typically stay home all the time so it's hard for me to acctually put real clothes on.  And half the time I'm changing diapers and have baby spit up all over my shirt. Can you believe its November already?! & Halloween Re-Cap

Monday, November 4, 2013

First, I want to give everyone a little Halloween re-cap of my precious Mickey and Minnie last week. I know I'm a little behind but I just can't not share these pictures :) Yes, I'm a proud momma!

This was Olivia's first Halloween and Little Gus' first Halloween that he knew what was going on. Although, we are not big fans of "celebrating" Halloween with scary decorations and spooky costumes I really don't see any harm in dressing the kids up and letting them go trick-or-treating. Our little guy LOVED the idea that they put candy in his little candy bag if he said "trick-or-treat". The first store (we went trick-or-treating at the mall) we went to he immediately stuck his hand into his bag, whipped out the candy and asked for help to open it so he could eat it. He was so cute!

As you may be able to tell Mickey wasn't in the best of moods (hence the lack of mickey ears and nose) so I was not able to snap very good pictures of him so what you see is the best I got.

You can see Mickey running around in the background haha...He wouldn't sit next to his sister so we could get a picture of them together. What are we going to do? We are well into his terrible twos. We have just have to make the best of it.

Second, Can you believe it's November already? That means the holidays are officially HERE!! and....my first born turns TWO at the end of the month! Time flies my friends...I'm cooking up an Elmo themed birthday party for my little guy. I've got so much to do so little time. We're going to be little busy bees on the blog this month! I've got several DIY's up my sleeve you don't want to miss out on that I'm really excited about!
